Bill served in the Army for 18 months in the Panama Canal Zone. He worked for nearly 30 years at the Rochester Times Union, one of Gannett’s flagship newspapers. He was part of a Times Union Pulitzer-Prize winning team. Family was always the center of his and his wife’s lives. A superb pianist, he co-founded the Beale Street Bandwagon, a Rochester Dixieland band. A devout Catholic, he rarely missed daily Mass when able to drive.
