INFANT BAPTISM PREPARATION TEAM
JOIN other families and team members as we welcome and mentor those who present their children for baptism. How can you help?
Infant Baptism ‘Family Formation’:
long with the joys of parenthood, there are many responsibilities. Parents are the first and best ’teachers of the faith’. St. Joseph’s is here to assist our families in building a strong foundation to raise children to know and love Jesus Christ and to bring that joy and faith to the world. This might include a home based meeting with families and some gatherings at church. Formation and materials for ’host families’ is provided.
Weekend Presence:
The Liturgy of Baptism helps us all to think about the hopes and dreams we all have for our children. This Sacrament of Initiation celebrates the beginning of life as a Child of God and a member of the church. Assistance in welcoming the family and friends before weekend Mass with baptism is an easy and important form of hospitality.
Follow-up with our families:
Mentoring and walking with our newest families and children provides a way of keeping everyone connected to parish life. A few hours a month or every other month will assure that our families feel welcome.
Infant Baptism Team:
Those who have the organizational skills, the ability to ‘vision’ and ‘implement’ the areas of need. Parents and grandparents—those who have already experienced baptism in their families, interested parishioners, young adults would be perfect team members. We will use various forms of communication including meeting together to organize and expand the ministry that we already provide to families.
