Our sister parish Lenten Mission is focused on "Becoming a Listening, Missionary Church: Communion, Participation, Mission" with mission director, Fr. Ed Palumbos, a senior priest of the Diocese of Rochester. Three evenings at 7:00pm: March 17 at St. Joseph's, March 18 at Holy Spirit, and March 19 at St. Josephs, culminating in a celebration of the Holy Mass for the Feast of St. Joseph on March 19. Fr. Ed Palumbos will preach at our sister parishes on the weekend of March 15-16 and at 9:00am daily mass on March 17-18-19. The first two evenings will include talks by Fr. Ed, music, prayer, witness talks, and how to apply these principles in our parish life by Fr. Jim Schwartz and Cathy Glisson. Please register here.
On each Friday in Lent, March 7 - April 11, the Church of the Holy Spirit will host a 6:00 pm Soup Supper in the Parish Hall, followed by Stations of the Cross in Church. Soup Suppers are prepared and served by parish groups, including the Joint Parish Council, Knights, Choir, and OCIA.
Taize, which began in France, is a simple, meditative form of worship, calling us to dwell deeply on Christ's presence around and within us. It includes repetitive, contemplative music, prayerful silence, and short readings in a candle-lit environment. Mondays March 24 and April 7 at 6:30 - 8:00pm.
To listen to and learn more about this form of prayer, click on the link below. This is an opportunity for individuals to grow in their faith and connect with others in our community. Fr. Mike will lead us in Lectio Divina prayer by reading a scripture passage, allowing time for personal reflection after each reading of the scripture passage, and an opportunity for group discussion. Join us in the Learning Center at St. Joseph's for one of our two sessions on March 31st from 5:30-6:30 pm or 7-8 pm. Childcare and light refreshments will be provided.
Join us for our Lenten Study, Wednesday mornings beginning March 5th, as we journey through “Jesus and the Jubilee: The Biblical Roots of the Year of God’s Favor“ by Dr. John Bergsma. We look forward to sitting at the feet of a leading scholar as we unpack what the Lord has in store for us in the year of Jubilee.
