Bob was a co-owner and operator of Tarrant Contractors and later founded Robert F. Smith Enterprises. Bob had an active history of community involvement and volunteerism: Finger Lakes Health System Agency, Harambee, Penfield Rotary, and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph’s for 42 years. He actively participated in Rotary service projects and fundraisers including the LPGA Golf Tournaments sponsored for many years by Monroe County Rotary Clubs as well as traveling to Sudan for the Water for Sudan Project. He was an active member in the Penfield Rotary Theater.
Leslie was a woman of faith and grace, and constantly reminded her family and friends to “Keep the Faith”. Leslie was a member of St. Joseph Catholic church and a former member of St. Rita’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed teaching faith formation classes and sharing her love of the Lord with the younger generation.
Hank graduated from Syracuse University in 1964, and from Cornell University (Order of the Coif) in 1967 with his J. D. Following law school, Hank joined the US Navy where he served from 1968-1971 as a Lieutenatnt, JAGC. He was in private practice for 44 years, most recently with Chamberlain D'Amanda. He received many accolades throughout his career and served on many boards. Hank was a parishioner at St. Joseph’s for 45 years. He was an east transept usher for many years. Hank read Scripture every day.
Donald served for years as a cook in the Army. He was born in Rutland, Vermont. He was a lead person for over 42 years at Standard Thomson Corporation in Waltham, Massachusetts. He was a parishioner at St. Joseph’s for 8 years.
Regina worked at the family grocery store in the 4-corners of Penfield in the 60’s (Bartell’s Meats and Groceries). After they closed the doors, she worked for many years as a receptionist at Soule and Swartzburg Pediatricians in Rochester. She became a parishioner at St. Joseph’s in 1962. She was a devout Catholic who attended mass every Sunday.
Phil was known professionally as Phil Naro. He was a spectacular singer and performer with a powerful, distinctive voice. He left us with an extraordinary amount of music which will allow his artistic legacy to live on forever. Phil performed at many charitable events.
Thomas and his wife were lifelong members of St. Joseph’s parish, becoming members back in 1976. He was a very religious man, often starting his day reading the Bible. During 1950 – 1953 Thomas was active duty for the United States Navy and honorably discharged in 1954. He served with the medical team as Corpsman. After his time in the Navy, he began his career with Bankers Trust. Thomas was very supportive of the Veterans and was an active member with the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus.
Eileen was married to husband Robert for 62 years before he passed in 2011. She was an amazing who always shared her home to friends and family and those in need. Eileen worked at Westside Manor as head cook for the residents for 20 years.
