St. Joseph’s and Holy Spirit’s Social Outreach
Committee would like to invite you to attend any of our Social Outreach meetings held via in person and/or via Zoom, generally on the first Thursday of the month at 7pm.  We disccuss the activities of our many social outreach efforts including:

• School 50
• Tanzania Outreach
• Bethany House
• ROC ACTS
• Matthew’s Closet
• Family Promise of Rochester (RAIHN)
• Habitat for Humanity
• Phillip the Van

Pope Francis on the poor, sick and frail:  "Many people write to me, and today I would like to assure a prayer to all these families, and I say to them: do not be afraid of fragility! Help each other with love, and you will all be aware of God's consoling presence”.

St. Joseph's Social outreach is rooted in Catholic Social Teaching and the Gospel imperative. We seek to lessen the burden of the poor and highlight Social Justice that the Gospel calls us to.

The Gospel calls us to express loving and compassionate service with particular concern to serve and support poor and vulnerable people through outreach of our faith community. Our focus is on those individuals, children, families, and communities struggling with poverty and the effects of intolerance and racism.

We actively join with others in our work for justice and support the sanctity of human life from conception to natural death and the dignity of the human person.
